Continuing the side-scrolling adventures of Yoh Asakura, Shaman King: Master of Spirits 2 is similar in style and sprit to the original Master of Spirits, released about a year earlier. Players guide the young shaman through a series of dangerous areas. Yoh can summon Guardian Ghosts to help him defeat his enemies, and capture the spirits of his fallen opponents. These spirits can be upgraded through a system that rewards strategic thinking, and they may be used to help Yoh avoid traps and reach remote goals.
