Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure relives the childhood of the series' main character, Goku, as he travels in search of the seven dragon balls. The 2D side-scrolling action follows the original manga and anime storylines of Dragon Ball Z, featuring locales such as the home of Yamcha, a kung fu bandit, and the Tenkaichi Budou Kai, where Goku can battle one-on-one against Tenshinhan. The game features three modes of play: "Gocha Battle," "Tanman Battle," and "Sky Battle." Gocha Battle features platform gameplay in several classic Dragon Ball scenes, where players can battle characters such as Jackie Chun and Inoshikachyou. Clearing "Gocha Battle" unlocks a harder difficulty option. "Tanman Battle" mode features one-on-one arena fighting, and "Sky Battle" mode puts players into the air, to shoot down bad guys with a Kamehameha blast. Multiplayer action is available through a game link connection cable.
