Super Volleyball (Sega Genesis, 1991)

Product Specs
Description
The first (and only) volleyball game available for the Sega Genesis, Super Volleyball offers a 2D side-view perspective as you serve, set and spike against the computer or friend. Eight international teams are available to choose from, or you can create your own by choosing the Team Edit option on the main screen. This allows you to name your team, select one of sixteen uniform colors, assign jersey numbers (one to fifteen), name each player (four starters and two reserves), and choose between eight rating groups to determine the following abilities: speed, block, return and serve. Once you're ready to begin, you'll toss and serve the ball by pressing the A button. The game automatically switches players so that you are always controlling the person closest to the ball, and the pad determines the type of shot performed. Players can also adjust the handicap, beginning points, and ball speed (normal, slow, or fast) before they set foot on the court. Single players can either play a single game against one computer team or enter the World League, which challenges you to beat each of the eight international teams to become champion. A password feature allows you to resume the league at a later time.
