AH-3 Thunderstrike is a flight combat simulator in which players take to the skies in a helicopter in order to complete 10 different multi-stage missions, including destroying a munitions factory in South America, protecting a fleet of ships in the South China Seas, and settling a border dispute in the Middle East. Basically, this involves locating primary targets and blowing them to smithereens with a machine gun that is equipped with unlimited ammo. For added power, you can pick up rockets, missiles, bombs and other weapons. The graphics have an overall sameness from mission to mission (despite a few details, such as snow and trees), the voice effects are annoying, the targeting system is problematic, and there's some pixelation. However, the cut scenes are nice, and the game is challenging and at least fairly enjoyable.
