Description

Based on the strategy card game from Score Entertainment, Dragon Ball Z: Collectible Card Game features customizable decks of cards from a pool of over 300. The objective is to defeat a series of opponents spread across five levels until the final battle with evil Cell. Each victory earns players a pack of ten cards to create a deck from. The three ways to defeat an opponent are diminishing his or her life deck (card pile) to zero, being first to collect all seven Dragon Ball cards, or playing enough Powerful Personality cards to reach a level higher than that of the competition. The game played in a turn-based fashion and cards are divided into various types. The majority of the cards involve combat, including physical attacks such as punching or kicking, energy attacks, and miscellaneous effects. Opponents can also defend against each attack, if they play the right card. The 11 heroes and villains to play as or against are Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Guldo, Gohan, Krillin, Nail, Frieza, King Cold, Piccolo, and Garlic Jr. With a Game Link cable, two players can face off against each other in a battle mode, or trade with one another to obtain coveted cards.
