Description

Konami's hit 1999 coin-op game targets the Game Boy Advance in the first handheld version of the sharp-shooting title. As an elite professional sniper, players must engage terrorist forces who have abducted the President and his family. Players aim their rifle from a first-person perspective while zooming-in on targets using the weapon's scope. Missions primarily involve taking out groups of terrorists and boss characters within the allotted time. Players will be sent to downtown Chicago, a football stadium, a hotel in Wisconsin, and two areas of the terrorist base to rescue the President, and his wife and daughter, and to defeat the enemy commander. In addition to both Arcade and Story Modes, players can test their skills at the Shooting Range. Five game variants range from Perfect Shot, where players try to shoot as many targets as possible without missing, to Normal Attack, where the goal is to earn high scores by shooting designated targets within the time limit. Up to four players can compete in a linked game of Balloon Shot, a Game Boy Advance exclusive, which involves shooting down colored balloons for points. The object is to shoot balloons of the same color, with each consecutive hit adding to the point total. Only one cartridge is required for players to participate in the Balloon Shot mode. An additional mode, entitled Advance Story, can be unlocked after satisfying certain conditions within the game.
