Description

Jurassic Park III: Park Builder is a business simulation in which players must create and successfully manage all aspects of a dinosaur attraction park. Designing, constructing, and managing various facilities while turning a profit is the goal of the game. The ultimate business endeavor, players can go for broke or literally go broke. Playing against a clock that's tracking years, months, and weeks, play begins with a budget of one million dollars and ends after 20 years of operation or bankruptcy -- which ever comes first. Players must design the park by creating roadways, walkways, and buildings such as restaurants, hotels, gift shops, and of course, dinosaur attractions. Park designs can be completely customized and in addition to the roadways and facilities, landscaping can also be added. Details, from the capacity of each facility to the price of park entry, can be customized as well. Dinosaur eggs are created from DNA samples and sent to hatch in a laboratory where they can be placed in areas for visitors to ogle. Once enough of the park has been designed, the business plan continues with advertising to bring visitors to the park. Every action has a price and constructing enough attractions and facilities to keep visitors returning and keep the profits growing is the objective. When expenditures exceed profits, players go in the red and the game is over. Success is achieved if the park can be run in the black for a 20-year period, tracked by an in-game clock.
