Test Drive Off-Road 3 (Nintendo Game Boy Color, 1999)

Product Specs
Description
Test Drive Off-Road 3 offers Game Boy Color owners the opportunity to drive one of ten authentic vehicles across eight different environments inspired by real-world locales. Since this is an off-road title, don't expect smooth asphalt or towering grandstands packed with devoted fans. The races take place across such terrain as ice, desert and mud through locations in California, Mexico, Germany, Vermont, Egypt, Louisiana and Utah. Three different game modes await players, including Tournament Play, Single Race and Patrol Chase. Tournament Play is divided into six cups, where the object is to earn money to purchase better vehicles as well as upgrades in such areas as acceleration, top speed, traction, gearing and the power winch. Players begin in the Amateur Cup and will advance through the Semi-Pro, Pro, Summit, Grizzly and Mammoth Cups on their way to victory. Placing first on each cup will open up the hidden Extreme Cup, which will offer six new tracks! Single Race is one race against the competition as you swerve to avoid boulders, trees and other perils of the open road on your choice of tracks unlocked from Tournament Play (24 in all). Patrol Chase has you stepping into the shoes of a police officer as you issue tickets to would-be lawbreakers. To complete the off-road experience, Test Drive Off-Road 3 features built-in rumble support to make players every bump in the road! In addition to the exclusive Hummer featured on the box cover, players can slip behind the wheel of the following rugged vehicles: a Dodge Ram V12, Dodge Shelby Durango SP360, Ford F150 4x4, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Land Rover Defender 90, Subaru Outback, Chenowth DRV-1 and the Dodge T-Rex.
