Magical Drop is an action puzzle game that has players controlling a small clown in an attempt to pop falling balloons. Once a year a tournament is held in Magical Land. Contestants come from all walks of life hoping to win the grand prize -- the mysterious Magical Drop. With it, the winner can make his or her dreams come true. As the tournament begins, a player can choose one of 12 characters, each with different traits. The object is to pop balloons that fall downwards in an endless series. Players must grab balloons from above and send them back upwards after arranging them in a vertical line of three or more of the same color. Balloons will burst after coming into contact with similar balloons, sometimes causing chain reactions. With skill and a little luck, players can use special balloons like ice, bubble, arrow, rainbow, and wipeout balloons. Mastering all types will earn players more points, create multiple chain reactions, and bring the contestant one step closer to making his or her dreams come true. A two-player mode brings the depth and action to a new level, as players send popped balloons to each other's screens to make things more challenging. High scores can also be printed out using the Game Boy Printer.
