Magneto's old friend Xavier is out to has put a stop to his evil machinations once again. Magneto has gathered some of the most powerful mutants in the world to put a stop to the X-Men. He has captured a Sentinel from one of the groups who already seeks to end mutantkind and reprogrammed it to do his bidding. Xavier must send his children out to stop the "Master of Magnetism" and stop his sinister plot. In X-Men: Mutant Wars for the Game Boy Color, you must send five of your very best students to tackle Magneto's eight levels of pain. Use the likes of Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Iceman, and Gambit. All of them have their own unique powers, and you can change between them with a touch of the button. Eight levels ready for them in various locations, from the buildings of Washington, D.C., to the jungle, and these locations are teeming with robot troopers. They'll need the power-ups available to them, such as hearts that restore their health or gems that will give them the X-boost they need to properly perform their mutant abilities. Also needed is a key to move to the next level, which can be found either on one of Magneto's henchmen or located off of the main path in one of the levels' many rooms. At the end of each level, they must challenge one of the seven bosses, or the Magnetic Mastermind himself, if they make it that far.
