Tech Deck: Skateboarding (Nintendo Game Boy Color, 2001)

Product Specs
Description
The Tech Deck phenomenon, in which you use your thumb to steer a miniature skateboard over obstacles, has been brought to the portable market courtesy of Acclaim. You assume the role of the Finger Guy, a thumb with a face and a desire to catch big air and perform crazy tricks. The goal of Tech Deck Skateboarding is to collect 50 different Tech Deck boards scattered around ten different skateparks. Parks are filled with giant obstacles from the real world, such as baseballs, shoestrings, and other objects you'd expect to find in a miniature universe. They also feature the types of items you would expect in a skatepark, like rails to grind and ramps to launch off of. The trick system in Tech Deck Skateboarding has been created with younger gamers in mind. When you launch off of a ramp, all you need to do is press a direction on the D-pad to enter into a spin or flip. The buttons aid in ground tricking, like ollies and methods, and also allow the player to grind off of ledges. There are three modes of difficulty available in Tech Deck Skateboarding: Easy, Medium, and X-Treme. The differences include more stringent time demands and/or an arrow directing players to the next deck. When you find all of the Decks hidden in one level, you will be able to advance to the next. You can also view collected Decks in a skateboard gallery.
