Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (Nintendo Game Boy Color, 2001)
Product Specs
Description
Activision's skateboarding series continues on the Game Boy Color with their third title starring professional skater Tony Hawk. As in the previous two handheld installments, the action in Pro Skater 3 is played from a side-view perspective. Thirteen real-life skaters are playable and individually rated in the following abilities: speed, ollie, hang, spin, balance, and switch. Nine courses take players from Canada Skate Camp to Tokyo. As players skate through a course, they must perform a series of grinds, lip tricks, flip tricks, grabs, switches, and manuals to achieve high scores. Three modes of play include Career, Single Session, and Free Skate. Career Mode has players advancing through each course in succession, while Single Session is a two-minute contest on any unlocked level. Free Skate lets players practice their moves without fear of a time limit. Each level in Career Mode features seven goals to reach, from high scores to collecting the letters SKATE to finding a secret tape. Three different competition levels involve scoring as many points as possible within three two-minute runs. Players must attain a specific rank during these competitions to advance. All scores, rankings, and careers are saved to battery after each level.
