Product Specs
Description
Based on the 1998 syndicated series starring Pamela Anderson, V.I.P. for the Game Boy Color is an action game spanning six distinct levels set within Southern California. As bodyguards for the rich and famous, the team is called into action when an actor nominated for an Academy Award is abducted days before the ceremony. Players must guide the beautiful Vallery Irons and her team of experts past obstacles, enemies, and the police to rescue and then protect their Hollywood client. Unlike most action games on the handheld, each level in V.I.P. is designed to offer a new experience. Two levels are vertically scrolling chase sequences, one in a car and the other in a boat, which involve moving from point A to point B as quickly as possible while avoiding hazards and other vehicles. The remaining levels consist of a side-scrolling race on rollerblades, a top-down helicopter shooter, a side-scrolling platform sequence, and an overhead free-roaming shooter. Each level also features an assortment of weapon, health, or fuel power-ups to assist players in need. As with other Ubi Soft games for the Game Boy Color, such as Rayman and Tonic Trouble, hidden within one of V.I.P.'s levels is a "Ubi Key" that unlocks a bonus stage. Once found, Ubi Keys can be exchanged with other players (using the infrared sensor on the Game Boy Color) to access additional secrets. V.I.P. also supports a password save feature allowing players to resume progress from the last level completed.
