Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX (Nintendo Game Boy Color, 2000)

Product Specs
Description
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX for the Game Boy Color involves learning skills to advance through eight levels, tricking off almost anything, and locating secrets and hidden objects in an attempt to become a BMX master. The game forgos the engine of its more technologically advanced big brothers for an isometric, top-down view. Your rider and his bike can move in eight different directions and perform over 20 different BMX tricks. Players progress through the game by meeting quotas, which range from obtaining a certain trick score to locating a number of objects scattered about the map. In addition, special tokens can be found that give players a new move. Aside from quotas, bronze, silver, and gold medals will have to be earned on several levels before players are allowed to advance. Levels themselves represent a number of different settings and styles, from forest terrain featuring rocks, logs, and dirt paths, to pure cityscapes, home of park benches, halfpipes, and swimming pools for daring players to trick in and out of. In addition to the single tricks, more ambitious bikers can use various ramps and ledges to leap and grind into combinations for even bigger points. Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX features a number of authentic bikes and professional riders, including the king of BMX, Dave Mirra himself. The title also offers a limited multiplayer element, in which up to four different players can take turns challenging each other on the same Game Boy Color system.
