Description
The first golf game Sega produced for its Genesis system, Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf features tournament play, match play and a practice mode. Play through 12 rounds in an attempt to defeat 15 golfers to become the world champion. A password feature will enable you to save your tournament progress. There are three obstacle-riddled courses from which to choose (one each in Japan, the U.S, and Great Britain) and three different sets of clubs. You begin the game with black carbon clubs, but when you win a round you will receive a new set of clubs that perform better and hit much farther. Also, your ability and level of caddy advice increases each time you win a round or score at least in the top eight positions. Swinging the club requires you to use a power gauge to judge the strength and height of your shot. You can adjust your stance and power and direction of the wind. A shot target mark helps you guide the direction of the ball. When the ball reaches the putting green, a close-up of the screen will appear. Here you can view the lie of the putt, change the position of the putter and utilize the power gauge and putt mark to help you with your shot.
