Fantasy Zone: The Maze (Sega Master, 1988)
Product Specs
Description
Fantasy Zone : The Maze is the third game in the Fantasy Zone series. This game takes a different approach from the previous games by becoming a maze game similar to Pac-Man. Players control Opa-Opa and his brother Upa-Upa who are out to defeat the Menons. The Menons are an evil race whose worlds are dying. They are in need of a new system to conquer and colonize. It was during the first two games in the series that the first two battles were fought. In both of them the Menons were defeated by Opa-Opa alone. Each of the 21 levels is full of gold coins and has Menons wandering about it. For a level to end all of the gold coins must be collected. Gold coins have another purpose as well, to purchase weapons. Neither character begins a level with a weapon and will need to avoid enemies until they have enough gold to purchase one. Weapons include: twin shot, wide beam, laser beam, fire bomb, heavy bomb, big wing, and top power. None of them last very long and cannot be carried over into the next round.
