Grand Theft Auto 2 stays true to the gameplay of the original title and puts the player back into the shoes of a criminal. Again, your goal is to achieve fame by performing violent and criminal activities while avoiding the police. Carjacking plays a prominent role as you can take just about any car for a spin and driving wherever you please. When traveling on foot a variety of hand weapons can be used to keep pedestrians and the law out of the way. The primary difference between this game and the original is that instead of only working for crime bosses you can now choose gangs to perform tasks for and play the gangs off of each other.
