Kong: The Animated Series (Nintendo Game Boy Advance, 2002)

Product Specs
Description
Based on the syndicated cartoon from BKN International, Kong: The Animated Series stars a genetically engineered version of the giant gorilla and his childhood pal, Jason. Kong's mission in this 2D side-scrolling adventure is to recover the Primal Stones and parchments from each level and then head for the exit. While searching for the items throughout Kong Island, New York City, and other locations, Kong must ward off or avoid dinosaurs, security guards, lions, killer plants, swamps, and other enemies and obstacles. Capable creature that he is, Kong packs a potent punch and can climb up and down vines. From time to time gamers can switch characters and play as Jason, who shares DNA with Kong. Jason can throw fruit at enemies and hit them with his staff. Fruit appears frequently within the seven worlds, and when 100 pieces are collected, players gain an extra life. There are also crates to collect that temporarily endow players with super-strength. Since Kong and Jason are genetically linked (Jason's DNA was used in the cloning process that brought Kong to life), players can sometimes merge the two characters together to form the bigger, more powerful Mega Kong. Kong: The Animated Series utilizes a password feature that enables players to save their progress.
