Jurassic Park III: Island Attack (Nintendo Game Boy Advance, 2001)

Product Specs
Description
As in the third Jurassic Park movie, Dr. Alan Grant has returned to the breeding grounds for the dinosaurs on Isla Sorna in Jurassic Park III: Island Attack for Game Boy Advance. As the main character in this adventure title, Dr. Grant needs players' help to escape from the remote island. Through eight levels, players encounter T-Rexes, Raptors, Compies, and a slue of other dinosaurs. Players must make use of their surroundings to evade the prehistoric predators and ultimately escape. Using a wireless transmitter to communicate with a rescue team, Dr. Grant receives hints that guide him through the building ruins and jungle environments of the island. This adventure game implements puzzle-solving and features limited weapons -- including only a flare gun and tranquilizer gun. Neither of these, when used alone, will inflict any permanent damage on the dinosaurs. With little means to defend one's self, eluding the enemy is the name of the game. To escape, players can run, jump, move crates, grapple from cliffs, and detonate crates containing gunpowder. Relocating the movable crates to reach out-of-the-way places and items aids in progress as well as defense. Other available items include medicine and first aid kits, to help recovery from damage, and a wire for grappling. Many doors and switches are encountered, some of which are locked or inaccessible. To advance, players must figure out how to toggle switches and find keys for locked doors. If players can make it across the island safely, a rescue boat will be waiting at the end of the eighth level.
