Sports Illustrated for Kids Football (Nintendo Game Boy Advance, 2001)

Product Specs
Description
The first football game for the 32-bit handheld, Sports Illustrated for Kids Football is the only pigskin title released in 2001 supporting the Game Link cable for two-player simultaneous action. While the game does not feature a professional license for real teams or players, the gridiron action is designed to follow the sport with a perspective just behind the quarterback. Three modes of play include Exhibition, Season, and Link. Ten fictitious teams (with names like the Knights and Badgers) are available in Exhibition mode, each rated from one to ten in overall skill. Once players have selected a team to play as or against, the action begins. The offense has a total of 24 passing, running, and special team plays in multiple formations and personnel packages. Defense also has 24 plays spread across six different packages. Season mode involves creating one of five custom teams, selecting its home city, uniform colors, and name. One of four playing styles must also be chosen, from a balanced team to fast runners on offense. Each athlete can be assigned to specific formations, and season stats are tracked at the end of every game. Completing a season game also awards players with experience points to upgrade an athlete in one of four categories: strength, speed, agility, and size.
